Sharon Vazanna
About the Workshop |
The workshop will start with a contemporary class and will follow with learning movement materials from the creations BODIES, a collaboration with Tomer Sapir and HIGH.
The first part of the workshop is a contemporary technique class. We focus on the anatomical structure of the body, isolations and separations of body parts and the relationship between the body and the space. We examine the relationships of different body parts and movements with gravity & weight, the dynamics of a movement and its patterns. Attention is given to musicality, rhythmic precision and the quality of each and every movement.
The second part of the workshop consists of learning segments from the creation BODIES and HIGH.
BODIES
The creation deals with the body and its boundaries, and examines it from the raw and sensory, to the instinctive and human.
The creation received an excellence scholarship prize in the field of dance by The Israeli Union of Performing Artists 2016.
HIGH
The piece presents different situations of courting, seduction, and the search for attention and love.
"With the creation HIGH, Vazana once again affirms her perspective as a powerful female artist." Ori Linkinski (The Jerusalem Post).
